The threat of rain wasn't the only thing that soured the evening. When the lights went down, the first thing I noticed, besides the smell of weed in the air, was that the band looked very tired. Flea, wearing a skeleton suit (Thank God he was wearing something!) didn't move as much as he usually does. Frusciante's proved two things during the show, one he needs a six-month vacation and two, he should leave the singing to Kiedis. Then again, Kiedis was out of breath by the opening song. Every jump Kiedis made took too much out of him. Every dance move (you'd think he'd have more rhythm being in a funk band) was forced and lethargic. Maybe that's why those sitting in the nosebleed section were spared having to see the band on the giant screens and were treated to lava lamp type visuals. I guess their never-ending tour is finally taking its toll.

But then again, Queens of the Stone Age is also on a never-ending tour (this is the 6th time that the band has come to the area). Yet they were energized. They sounded fresh. Even Nick Oliveri's dance moves, pathetic as they were, were natural and "went with the flow." Washington D.C.'s French Toast, showed that a band can get by with just two members as both handled drums, guitar, keyboards and vocals respectively.
