There are things that should be revived (like Southern Rock) and other things should be left well (Rap Rock, Glam Rock and Prog Rock). Coheed and Cambria, a Prog Rock band from Upstate New York, has just released their fifth album "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World For Tomorrow". This is the supposed last chapter in the "Armory Wars" saga. I know that sounds more like a sci-fi series, but that's what Prog rock is basically known for. Ambitious "sagas" that were already done with a lot more success and a lot less interest.

Whatever saga Coheed and Cambria had in mind, it wasn't played. Instead, they played a mixture of songs previewing their upcoming tour. There was no story lines, nothing spectacular or noteworthy in their performance, just the singles being played. If this is a preview of what is to come, then there is really nothing to look forward to. The only other thing I can say is that they did a great job renovating the Gramercy Theatre.
