Dave Matthews Band

Venue:
Central Park: Great Lawn
September 24, 2003

Sold out!
At first, I didn’t get big deal about The Dave Matthews Band. I’ve heard their singles and thought they were nothing special. So why did I bother going? I needed to find out why this band can sell out places like Madison Square Garden and Giants Stadium. I wanted to know why someone like John (a T-shirt entrepreneur) has seen them 27 times. My curiosity demanded to know why people were paying scalpers $50.00 for tickets that were given away for free (so much for education).

Speaking of education, during this show, I’ve learned several things. One, which I’ve known all along, is that New York has the most gorgeous women. Two, a beautiful night in Central Park can be magical and three, The Dave Matthews Band puts on a wonderful show. Dave Matthews showed his love for New York and it was returned 100,000 fold, making everybody forget that they stood in line for 3 hours. There was no shoving, no rudeness, just dancing and an absolute joyous vibe throughout the show. Whether it was viewed on one of the several jumbotrons or you caught a tiny glimpse of a man with an acoustic on stage, 100,000 plus went home shining with happiness.

As for me, I get it now..
