For the fans who were brave enough to weather the blizzard, Electric Six treated them to pushups, a Stevie Nicks cover and an exciting and energetic rock performance. Dick Valentine mixed the setlist to include even portions of "Senor Smoke" and "Fire" leaving out staples like "Naked Pictures of Your Mother" and "Radio Ga Ga" and gave us rarities like "Vengeance and Fashion."
Also, Valentine's trademark (if you could call it that) hand waving to the audience was left out in exchange for the more traditional hand slapping interaction with the fans. A few more months of buzz should allow the band to graduate to bigger venues as they have already secured a second sold out night at the Bowery. I am ready to brave the blizzard for that show as well.
Unfortunately, snow kept me from catching She Wants Revenge and I barely made it in time to catch Rock Kills Kid. RKK's music reminds me of Interpol and I could see them pairing for a tour. If crowd reaction is any indicator, RKK will be headlining shows at the Bowery very soon. |
