As I walked into Roseland, I noticed a t-shirt at the concession that said “warning this music may cause you to want to Kill God, Kill Your Mom and Dad or even Kill Yourself.” Well I didn’t want to kill God, my parents or myself. I did want to kill Manson for making me wait 45 minutes after opening-act Slunt left the stage. I also wanted to kill the crew for taking their sweet time fixing the broken speaker during “Personal Jesus.”

Manson’s show covered all aspects of his career, from the giant lit up signs that said “Drugs,” and “Fight,” to the podium to his stage gear for “The Golden Age of Grotesque.” What seemed to be missing was the protests, the Bible tearing and the all around offensive material. His old band was missing as well as this was practically an entirely new band backing him up.

Greatest Hits packages are usually a sign of going away and it seems that his antics don’t draw the attention they used to. One can only re-invent themselves so many times before the masses go elsewhere. Local band Slunt opened the show to a half interested crowd. Their antics have already been covered by T.A.T.U. Another band whose 15 minutes are long spent.
