Ozzy Osbourne has never looked or sounded better. Maybe it was because he was playing with his old mates in Black Sabbath that he brought his "A" game. Perhaps he had to up the ante because of the strong performances of the main stage? After all, following the long awaited reunion of Judas Priest was no easy task considering that Halford still has his pipes. The rest of the bill included Slayer, who never dissapoints, Dimmu Borgir, the next wave in black metal, Superjoint Ritual, who used 20 out of there 30-minute set to talk smack about Pantera, and Zakk Wylde's own Black Label Society.
Then the heavy hitters of the second stage, Slipknot, who drew the biggest crowd. Hatebreed, who drew the biggest pits. Lamb of God who was the most anticipated band. Strong performances by Lacuna Coil, Devildriver and others made this Ozzfest the heaviest it had ever been.
I can't imagine how Sharon will top this bill. I'll just have to wait to next year to see. |
