Never let it be said that Sharon Osbourne doesn't listen to the fans. When fans wanted a heavier Ozzfest they got it. When the fans wanted name acts, they got that. When the fans complained about high ticket prices, they got "Free Fest".
Of course you got what you paid for. A bunch of bands that are only indistinguishable by names only. Still, the price of admission is worth it for the festival's main attraction. Ozzy came on stage singing the favorites that everybody waited all day for. Zakk Wylde showed everyone else that there are people who can still actually play the guitar. For what it was worth, fans got Ozzy for free, the rest can be considered either a bonus or a burden.
If this isn't Ozzfest's swan song, I hope that Sharon will still listen to the fans when they say they want Ozzy to play a different setlist. |
