sold out!
Have Pearl Jam sabotaged their career beyond repair? They turned their backs on MTV long ago. The battle with ticketmaster alienated some fans. Each subsequent CD sells less than its predecessor and their new songs are rarely played on radio. So why is it that 17,000 people packed the Garden, sang along to every song, including the covers, screamed, howled and shook the very foundations of the building? It was if everyone in the crowd drank a case of Red Bull before the show. The energy that the audience had nearly drowned out the band. Every song was a crowd favorite, and although the plea to play "Dirty Frank" fell on deaf ears and according to one fan's banner, they're still pussies for not playing "Lease," some may walk away stating it was the best show they have ever seen.

And it is shows like these that keeps Pearl Jam packing arenas all around the country. Not bad for a band that chooses not to be the biggest band in the world, but easily could. Opening act, Sleater-Kinney isn't used to playing places like the Garden, but if they can win just one fan then it would be all worth it.
