Velvet Revolver

Alice in Chains
Kill Hannah

Venue:
Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre
August 18, 2007

Forget what the title says, this was an Alice in Chains show. Forget that they only had the stage for 45 minutes, this was an Alice in Chains show. Forget the late Layne Staley, this was Alice in Chains. A phenomenal performance from one of Seattle's most iconic bands. Duvall filled the shoes quite well and the greatest hits setlist showed that Seattle had more than just two great bands in the early 90's.

How could Velvet Revolver possibly follow up? Despite Weiland's attempt at enticing the crowd and Slash's superb guitar work, the crowd only cared for he STP and GnR songs that were played. This "Supergroup" just doesn't have the decandance, the danger, or even the punch that the previous bands possessed. Clearly the best of both worlds doesn't equate to a great band. Oh well, at least they can get to the stage on time.
