sold out!
Imagine a big garage. Now imagine a brother and sister, husband and wife or dude and chick, whatever, sitting around listening to John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Bob Seger and lots of Loretta Lynn. Now imagine still, these two people buying vinyl copies of their hometown heroes (since the home is Detroit that's a lot of records). Now imagine during one of their jam sessions in the garage, they decide to get a bit more organized, so they hop in their car and go to Target to buy one of those storage bins for all the guitar strings, cords, drum sticks and indulge in little mint candies. While they are there, inspiration strikes.

I really don't know the true origin of the White Stripes, but I don't think it would be much different that what I just described. It all boils down to these simple things, two people, who are obsessed with red, white and black, make a lot of noise that sounds really good. The final show at their three-show stop at Roseland has no doubt made fans hungering for a fourth night.

Jack didn't have too much to say, except when he told two people to stop hitting each other. He simply just cut loose, played what he felt like playing and said goodnight. Opening act Autolux had influences of their own, mainly that of Sonic Youth. The crowd wasn't as responsive as they were for the other act Whirlwind Heat. Whirlwind Heat may be one or two albums away from headlining Roseland themselves, but by that time, The White Stripes will take center stage at the Garden.
